Myanmar has discovered a suspected case of Ebola virus infection, Xinhua news agency reports quoting the Information Ministry today.

A Myanmar male citizen aged 22 who has worked in Guinea and Liberia was  found with fever after arriving from Bangkok at Yangon International Airport at 8pm local time yesterday.

He was sent to an isolated ward on the outskirts of Yangon to undergo tests to confirm the infection.

Myanmar is taking preventive measures to curb the spread of Ebola in the wake of the outbreak in four West African countries.

The Health Ministry is working with its counterparts from other countries, United Nations agencies, local non-governmental organisations and civil societies in containing the disease.
