Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali has lambasted PAS for being a "coward" and backing PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to become Selangor menteri besar.
In a statement, he said PAS missed a "golden opportunity" to prove that it could replace Umno for the future of the Malays and Islam.
"PAS has become a coward, to the point of turning its back on the decision of the Syura Council, the party president and spiritual adviser.
"It is clear that PAS is a secular party, which is no different from Umno. This proves that PAS is far from qualified to replace Umno," he added.
Ibrahim also said it would be difficult for the sultan to agree to Wan Azizah as she is a woman and does not hail from Selangor.
Whereas, he added PKR deputy president Azmin Ali had been linked to running down the royal institution.
"True or not, God knows. But it has been reported in the media," he added.
Apart from Wan Azizah, PAS had also nominated Azmin for the post. But both PKR and Pakatan Rakyat have insisted on the former.
Ibrahim said PKR should put forth the name of a third candidate but stressed that the best solution is for current menteri besar to advise the sultan to dissolve the state assembly.
