Thunderstorms to persist till afternoon

Thunderstorms occurring over waters off Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Penang, Malacca, West Johor, Sarawak (Rejang), Federal Territory of Labuan, Miri, and Sabah (west coast and Kudat) are expected to continue until this afternoon.

A similar condition over waters off the Straits of Malacca, Reef South, Tioman, Sulu and Palawan are also expected to persist till afternoon.
The strong winds of up to 50kph and waves of up to 3.5 metres are dangerous to small boats, warned the Meteorological Department in a statement.
