A group aligned to Selangor Menteri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim has threatened to organise a protest against the leader's sacking from PKR.
 
In a forum hours of Abdul Khalid's sacking last night, the pro-Khalid movement dubbed Pakatan Anak Selangor Sokong Menteri Besar (Pasmeb) said such a protest was not unlike PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim's response when he was sacked as Deputy Prime Minister in 1998.
 
"There could be a demonstration because that is what Anwar taught us in 1998.
 
"We saw how he (demonstrated to) pressured (then prime minister) Dr Mahathir Mohamad to step down (after his sacking)," Pasmeb chief Mazli Saring (left) told journalists in Kuala Lumpur after the forum entitled "Khalid Ibrahim betrayed Pakatan?"
 
Following the threat, Pasmeb is expected to assemble at the Selangor menteri besar official residence in Shah Alam this afternoon.
 
Mazli said Abdul Khalid had two options now that he is party-less, namely to join PAS which for now remains sympathetic to him or to dissolve the state assembly.
 
Some supporters of Abdul Khalid were also spotted at the forum which held up placards with words such as"We the rakyat are with MB Abdul Khalid", "PKR should not play out Selangorians" and "Selangorians will respond in the general election".
 
Aside from Mazli, the other forum panelists were Selangor menteri besar office's economic analyst Azrul Azwar Ahmad Tahuddin, Selangor menteri besar communications officer Shazni Munir and political analyst Nathaniel Tan.
 
The forum was moderated by Ahmad Syukri Razab from Lensa Anak Muda Malaysia (Lensa).
