Tanjung Malim, Kuala Terengganu and Alor Setar are experiencing moderate air quality, bringing the total areas with such a situation to eight.

According to the Department of Environment (DOE) website as at 5pm, the Air Pollution Index (API) in Tanjung Malim was 66, Kuala Terengganu (61) and Alor Setar (53).

Five other areas still experiencing moderate air quality are Kg Air Putih in Taiping (57), Bakar Arang in Kedah and Batu Muda in Kuala Lumpur (both 56), Port Klang (53) and Shah Alam (51).

An API reading of between 0 and 50 is categorised as good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and above 300 (dangerous).
