Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim has lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), asking it to investigate questions surrounding his integrity, as alleged by PKR, of which he is a member.

Khalid sent a delegation, led by his chief private secretary Mohamad Yazid Bidin, to the Selangor MACC office where a copy of the document tendered by PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail at a press conference recently was handed over.

Also seen were two of Khalid’s political secretaries - Mustapha Mohd Talib and Azman Abidin, former senator Syed Shahir Syed Mohamud, PKR Youth deputy chief Khairul Anwar Zainuddin and other PKR leaders and staff members.

The report was lodged in a bid to clear Khalid’s name over allegations of misconduct by Saifuddin.

“The MB is certain that he did no wrong and he felt the matter should be resolved by the MACC,” Yazid told reporters.

PKR yesterday handed over 91-page document to PAS and DAP leaders, citing “reasonable doubts” in Khalid’s resolution of his multi-million ringgit out-of-court settlement with Bank Islam over a loan he took to purchase Guthrie shares.

The document also alleged questionable action on the part of Khalid in the Selangor water industry restructuring deal.

It reported how the out-of-court settlement was allegedly hurried following the party’s move to oust him through the ‘Kajang Move’ last Jan 28.

Khalid had previously challenged Saifuddin to lodge a report with the police or the MACC and Bank Negara, if the PKR secretary-general had suspected any wrongdoing on his part.
