MCA Youth has lashed out at DAP for making inconsistent statements on Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim's credentials.
The wing's secretary-general Leong Kim Soon said DAP leaders, who were praising Khalid’s administration in the beginning, have now started to distance themselves from him after he appeared to have lost support from PKR's top leadership.
In particular, Leong's statement faulted DAP Kampung Tunku state assemblyperson Lau Weng San (left).
"When Pakatan Rakyat captured Selangor, Khalid was recommended by Selangor DAP leaders, including Lau, to be the menteri besar.
"They continuously praised him as professional coming from a corporate background, hardworking, etc.
"But now when the odds are stacked against Khalid, all the praises of yore have undergone a 180 degree turnaround to become attacks," he said.
Earlier this week, Lau had voiced out against Selangor MCA state liaison committee deputy chairperson Donald Lim for doubting PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail's credentials to be the next Selangor MB.
Despite having his neck on the chopping block, Khalid yesterday reiterated that he would not just quit but wanted to see proper procedure followed.
