Five non-governmental organizations (NGO) today lodged a police report, urging the inspector-general of police to take action against an individual for criminal intimidation against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak on Facebook.

The five NGOs - 1Malaysia Malay Army Veterans Association (PVTM), Malaysian Martabat Jalinan Muhibbah Malaysia (MJMM), Ikatan Rakyat Insan Muslim Malaysia (Irimm), Wanita Jaringan Rakyat (Wajar) and Pertubuhan Permuafakatan Majlis Ayahanda Malaysia (Permas) - were represented by PVTM president Mohd Ali Baharom (right).

Mohd Ali who was accompanied by 15 members lodged the police report at the Sungai Besi police station here at 12.30pm.

"The individual known as 'Ahli Fikir' on his Facebook account has gone overboard.

"Do not try to politicize every issue in this country and blame the leaders and the governing party," he told reporters after the report.

In the Facebook posting, the individual said: "Let us jihad, destroy Najib, Israel's atrocity and the intrusion in Sabah".

Meanwhile, in another police report, MJMM president Abdul Rani Kulup Abdullah urged the Police and the Malaysian Department of Islamic Development (Jakim) to take stern action against the non-Muslim woman who was allegedly wearing a shirt Quranic verses printed on it.

"If the matter is allowed to continue, it will destroy the sanctity of Islam and affect the sensitivities of Muslims in the country," he said.
