Muslim NGO Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma) wants Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar to disclose investigations on DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang, following multiple police reports lodged against him by Isma members two months ago.  

According to IsmaWeb, Isma coalition of lawyers spokesperson Muhammad Luttfi Abdul Khalid said police should take action against Lim and his party to show that they are not practiscing favouritism.

"President Isma Abdullah Zaik Abd Rahman was investigated and charged (under the Sedition Act) immediately.

"Are the police practising favouritism?" Muhammad Luttfi is quoted as saying by Isma’s mouthpiece.

Muhammad Lutffi also sent a letter to Khalid urging him to provide an update on the status of the police reports by Isma members nationwide.

Isma had taken offence to Lim for allegedly saying that Isma is harmful to racial unity and religious harmony among Malaysians during an assembly at Dataran Merdeka on May 4.

Four days later, Isma members from 27 branches simultaneously lodged police reports throughout the country against DAP and Lim.

DAP, which is often the target of attack by Isma leaders, once described Isma as a form of cancer that should be banished from the political landscape.

The Muslim NGO also once accused Lim of wanting to wipe out the Malay race, language and culture.

Isma president Abdullah Zaik was charged with sedition for his controversial statement that Chinese Malaysians are "intruders". The second hearing will take place tomorrow.
