DAP, Keadilan and PAS are the three most influential opposition parties in Malaysia, with PAS being the ruling party of Kelantan and Terengganu capturing the Malaysian attention with its terrifying PAS blueprint.

Keadilan gained fame and support of Malaysians during the Anwar period - a time which really attracted many young citizens, be them Malay, Chinese or Indian. DAP, the strongest opposition party, performs its mission of being a 'check and balance' against the ruling party. Among the three, I feel sad for DAP.

I must admit that I am not from any party, nor am I knowledgeable in politics, but for many reasons I feel sympathy for DAP.

The party has failed to gain reasonable coverage in the media compared to the ruling party, despite the hard works. The press is nowadays so overly controlled by certain parties that all news in favour of DAP is being obstructed to ensure that innocent Malaysian are not informed about the news or happenings in DAP.

It is not fair for this opposition party led by Lim Kit Siang that has put in so much effort to fight for our rights. Yet, DAP fails to get the attention of the press. We Malaysians are so pitiful that we fail be informed of the latest progress in DAP. On the other hand, when I flip through the newspapers, exaggerated compliments and beatific reports of certain parties grab my attention without much difficulty in searching.

Recently, a newly resigned young DAP member in Penang claimed that DAP leaders did not practice democracy within the party; that new bloods were not given a chance to develop. I really sympathise DAP for being accused such utterance. Sometime last year I was so jealous of the young lady for being valued so much by DAP that, she was given opportunity to hold few important positions in Penang DAP - at least six key positions if I am not mistaken!

I was amazed by her achievements at the age of 21. She was taken care of and given much opportunities for publicity.

I have great respect for Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for having the courage to advocate the position of 'Tell Me The Truth!'. As a soon-to-be voter at the next elections, I wish to tell our beloved prime minister that as voters, we have the right to know and be informed of progress within the opposition parties. Something must be done immediately to abolish the media controls by certain parties! Return press freedom to Malaysia. Allow all the opposition parties to fight the political battle without any unjust restriction!
