The Perdana Global Peace Foundation (PGPF) strongly condemns the current cruelty of the Zionist regime against the Palestinians in Gaza which began on July 9 and had so far resulted in 192 Palestinians killed and over 1,410 injured, over 22,240 attacks and 585 houses as well as eight mosques destroyed.

We have to increase global pressure to stop the genocide in Gaza. We deplore the escalating Israeli aggression towards Gaza, which targets civilians such as children, women and the elderly.  This on-going act of genocide cannot remain unpunished by the world community.

Israel continues to commit multiple violations of UN resolutions regarding Palestine as well as the Geneva Conventions and enforcement of violations remains mere rhetoric. The world community has not condemned Israel enough for their militant aggression.

PGPF is concerned that this latest onslaught cum massacre by Israelis will be on a much larger scale compared to the military operation back in 2008. Currently there are severe restrictions to medical supplies and aid into Gaza at the Rafah border imposed by the Egyptian authorities. Hospitals are running at over capacity to meet the increasing number of casualties.

With this in mind, PGPF regrets that the community in the Asean region has not galvanised its voice to show solidarity with the people of Gaza to demand for an immediate halt to the carnage. On the other hand, it is most encouraging to see this solidarity displayed in public rallies in the UK, Europe and America.

Israel’s on-going brutality is escalating beyond human comprehension and we are deeply disappointed by the UN’s choice of remaining silent in this issue. It is deeply immoral as well as absurdly counterproductive towards peace. The denial of human rights for the Palestinians must end.
