“At first I was photographed with (Prime Minister) Najib and then I was photographed with (PKR de facto leader) Anwar.

“And then I also took photos with (PAS president) Abdul Hadi. So based on the photos alone, I have joined many parties,” said Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim in rubbishing talk that he is defecting from PKR, according to a SelangorKini report today.

Previously, a photograph of Khalid with Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak was circulated online and this sparked speculation that he was defecting to Umno.

Another photograph of Khalid with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and secretary-general Mustafa Ali similarly sparked talk that he would be defecting to PAS.

Khalid ( right ) and Najib broke fast together at Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Mosque last Thursday and this triggered speculation of a secret meeting between them.

Khalid’s press secretary Arfa'eza Abdul Aziz , Anwar and Najib have all dismissed talk that such a meeting took place.

“It was a normal invitation (to Najib and Khalid) by the mosque committee. It is good that he (Khalid) attended - it is in Selangor and he was invited by the mosque committee," Anwar told reporters last Saturday.

Khalid was also quoted as saying that Najib had wanted to visit Selangor, and it was decided that it is better to send him an invitation because he is a national leader.

The mosque is also new and the second largest in Selangor, and therefore the visit is significant, he said.

“Since Najib is present at the capital Shah Alam and at a main state mosque, it would be good if that menteri besar is with him.

“Therefore our aim is to honour his visit and I too get divine rewards ( pahala ) for praying with our friends there,” he added.
