Several weeks ago, letters were posted complaining about the abuse of power and position at Malaysia Hall London. Readers must not be fooled into thinking that the problem is limited to only Malaysia Hall London. The fact is, Malaysia Hall Dublin is also being blatantly abused for political party activities. And not surprisingly, the culprit is again related to Umno.

Kelab Umno Dublin has always insisted that they are merely a social club and has no political motivation. Yet, just a few days ago, I received an email inviting me to a forum organised by Kelab Umno Dublin. This time, the panellists included party Youth chief Hishammuddin Hussein.

If Kelab Umno is really not a political organisation, how can they justify providing a platform for those representing Umno, a political party? Note that these people were not advertised as representing the Malaysian government but it is clearly stated that they represent Umno, the political party.

Is it not Kelab Umno who went everywhere calling on students not to be involved in politics? Is it not Kelab Umno who stabs other students in the back by making reports to Kuala Lumpur on students' so-called "political" activities? Or are they simply hypocrites who would bark and use these arguments when people attend events related to the opposition?

Once again, Malaysia Hall this time in Dublin is playing stooge to Umno. The forum will be chaired by Sulaiman Yunus of Malaysia Hall. Why does the Malaysia Hall tolerate students' involvement in political activities this time? What is the difference between Umno and PAS? They are both political parties. They both have political agendas.

If students are not allowed to participate in an event organised by one, then surely the same policy applies to other political events. This is clearly a double standard and a hypocritical action on the side of Malaysia Hall officials.
