Anwar denies meeting PAS to replace MB with Azizah

Anwar said the issue of Wan Azizah heading the Selangor government has not come up “yet”.
However, Anwar said there are concerns over the Selangor leadership currently held by Khalid Ibrahim and the issue will be resolved soon.
He conceded that the issue, if not resolved, will bring negative light to Pakatan Rakyat’s ability to govern Selangor.
But Anwar avoided giving a straight answer when asked about his personal view on whether Khalid should stay or leave.
“There are lots of concerns over Selangor, for example the non-consultation with state leaders over the issue of the Kidex highway and water concessions,” he said at the Penang state-level buaka puasa feast in Guar Perahu today.
“I am considering all views. I am mindful, I am listening, discussing with our partners, DAP and PAS - all these have to be done in a nice manner, through consensus of all parties,” added the Permatang Pauh MP.
“PKR has to decide, followed by Pakatan Rakyat,” Anwar, said as he was led away for Maghrib prayers at the mosque at Taman Guar Perahu.
He was commenting on media reports that Khalid would be replaced by Wan Azizah (left) after the Aidilfitri celebrations.
Khalid was recently criticised by his own allies for allegedly mishandling several state issues including the controversial seizure of 300 Bibles in the Malay and Iban languages by the Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (Jais).
“Khalid is aware, I am aware and we know we should resolve it amicably, whatever decision that needs to be taken,” Anwar said.
Media reports also speculated that the only barrier preventing Khalid’s removal is the Selangor palace and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.
It was also rumoured that Anwar had met Abdul Hadi while he was at the Institute Jantung Negara to speak about Khalid’s removal, which he denied.
“I met Hadi as friends, and went with my family including Wan Azizah. We spoke about his health and family, and did not use this time when he is ill to speak about such things,” Anwar said.
