There was no damage to underground electrical cables in Jalan Imbi in Kuala Lumpur following a cave-in incident in the area yesterday.

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) corporate affairs and communications senior general manager Mohd Aminuddin Mohd Amin said electricity supply in the incident area was not affected.

“If need be, TNB will take action to ensure the system is intact and to protect our customers’ interest,” he said in a statement today.

According to him, a TNB technical team has been despatched to the incident site to assist.

In the 9.30am incident yesterday, a section of the 35-metre tunnel under construction for a four-lane underpass at the Jalan Imbi-Pudu junction sank five metres following ground settlement in the area.
