I refer to Chris' letter , 'Give us better public transport too' and would like to add a motorcyclist perspective to it. As a motorcycle user, I frequently use the special lanes along the federal highway. However, every time it rains, a few places along the lane will surely be clogged with water, forcing motorbike users to take an alternative route. It creates unnecessary inconvenience.

The worst is near the Jalan 222 junction ) in PJ, Selangor. A half an hour drizzle would surely result in a flash flood in the enclosed section of the lane. This has been going on for the last 10 years. Some years ago, a company put up a toll-free number that one can contact to report flash floods. It's no more there but the flash floods remain a permanent feature. Is it an impossible and technically challenging task for the authorities to solve?

Another nightmare for motorcyclist is the metal-covered water-drainage holes along the road. It is almost impossible to ride a motorbike along the side of the road due to damaged covers and unclosed drainage holes. One has to ride along Jalan Gasing and Jalan University to discover this 'bikers' nightmare'.

When statistics on accidents are presented, motorcyclists top the list. While speeding and attitude may contribute greatly, road conditions also plays an important role, especially for motorcyclist.
