The government will investigate a contractor to determine whether it is responsible for causing the gaping hole on Jalan Imbi in Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said today. 

"After investigations are complete, we may take action on the contractor," Tengku Adnan said. 
 
The minister was speaking to reporters when asked about the 19-metre-long hole that appeared on Jalan Imbi yesterday, resulting from the collapse of an underground tunnel being built there.
 
A broken underground water pipe is suspected to have contributed to the cave-in. 
 
Asked for his assurance that similar incidents would not recur, Tengku Adnan said the incident was under study and discussion, but that such events could happen from time to time.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall has announced that the road there will be closed for two weeks for repair.
