Stop the inter-racial polemics

The leadership of the New Generation Party (NewGen Party) would like to urge all parties to stop the inter-racial polemics for the sake of national unity and peace. As a party led by the young people of Malaysia, it is our duty to find a solution for this issue. I have been also asked personally on the party’s stand in regards to this issue.
The leadership of the New Generation Party (NewGen Party) would like to urge all parties to stop the inter-racial polemics for the sake of national unity and peace. We are deeply concerned with the continuous polemics in terms of race and religion being played by some irresponsible quarters for the sake of their own cheap political mileage. Moreover, when the polemic also affects the ordinary citizen, then we feel we should urge all parties to stop this immediately as it will reflect badly on the people and nation as a whole.
Many issues related to race and religion are being played up repeatedly. For example, it is alleged that majority of the Malays feel that the Chinese community, who are already helming the economic power of the country, want to also now takeover the political power from them.
Meanwhile, it is alleged that the majority of the Chinese feel that the nation’s leadership, who are mainly Malays, are not running this country effectively which will bring bad effects to the country. As such, the Chinese are allegedly now wanting to wrestle political power.
This issue turns bigger and naster as both races seem to be largely represented by two political parties with two different political ideologies. Whether we want to admit it or not, the Malays are largely represented by Umno and the Chinese by DAP. This is a fact on the ground.
This sentiment exists widely amongs these two races, especially in the recent times. Nevertheless, we should all reflect that this will definitely bring bad effects to the peace and unity of this country in the long run.
This sentiments had started to surface during the 12th general election and had become widely noticeable during the 13th general election. If left unchecked, this will end up with two big political powers in this country along racial lines in the future. This is definitely not in line with the concept of power-sharing and inter-racial unity.
As such, we as the sole political party for the young people of Malaysia who will inherit the national leadership in future, would like to urge all parties to think rationally, learn to give and take and find common ground between each other. We all live together in this country, as such we must find all ways possible to live peacefully together by respecting each other.
Lastly, we wish to remind all that the young people of Malaysia will not let the unity and peace of this country to be disturbed by any parties. Malaysia belongs to all.
