Former information minister Zainuddin Maidin must be lambasted for his extremely unfavourable blog published on July 1, 2014 entitled ‘Pergi mampuslah MCA jika mahu menumpang tiket DAP (If MCA imitates the action of DAP, then go to hell!)’ as reported in Malaysiakini . Such remarks insult the Chinese community and hurt MCA. I wish to advise Zainuddin to be moderate in his thoughts as well as to think twice before expressing such views.

As a member of Barisan Nasional, MCA always focuses on subject matters rather than non-issues. As long as Umno’s remarks are reasonable, MCA will support it. However, such ethnic provocative remarks will not be supported for the benefit of BN as well. As we are in a multiracial country, we must have the spirit of racial harmony in order to ensure national peace and stability.

Other than that, MCA never imitates DAP’s action as MCA has its own party’s style and strategy. In addition, MCA will never resort to an anti-Malay or anti-Umno concept to win the votes of the Chinese. MCA advocates national unity, social peace and respect for one another to achieve greater unity in our multiracial society. I urge Zainuddin to apologise to MCA for the harmony of all parties.
