Former minister Zainuddin Maidin has told MCA to "go and die" and take DAP to the grave as well.

He was furious that MCA chose to tread the path of DAP to attack Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi over his remarks about DAP assemblyperson, RSN Rayer.

Accusing MCA of riding on DAP's "anti-Malay and anti-Umno" ticket, Zainuddin chided the BN party for making such statements despite its leaders being appointed into the cabinet last week.

"Though being appointed by the prime minister through his mercy, MCA continues to employ old strategies," the former top editor, known as Zam, penned in his blog.

Zainuddin said MCA president Liow Tiong Lai had took a swipe at Zahid, claiming that the latter's comments were improper.

This was followed by MCA's Religious Harmony Bureau chairperson Ti Lian Ker, who described Zahid's actions as "arrogant and apathetic"as well as wanting to create lawlessness.

The MCA leaders were responding to the home minister's comments that Rayer deserved a cow-head being thrown in front of his house for calling Umno "celaka".

Zainuddin said although Ti realised that Rayer had abused his assembly immunity by making the remark, he questioned why the MCA leader did not criticise the DAP rep first.

"This shows MCA has no new ideas to find ways of returning Chinese support to BN, as it is not a dynamic party. Its only wisdom is to wear DAP's hat or by using the same DAP ticket.

"This action in attacking Umno, is a mark of a hypocrite and the actions of a person who has a forked tongue," added the former editor-in-chief of Utusan Malaysia.

MCA, he said, should realise that it cannot compete with DAP.

"Let DAP be with its role. If MCA does not realise this and the party still tries to find its popularity like DAP … I say 'pergi mampuslah' MCA (go and die MCA) and take DAP as its partner.

"It is better for (Umno) to be friends with known enemies rather then some party which is an enemy in hiding," he added.
