MCA today lambasted DAP over the latter's criticism on Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim on the recurring water crisis.
The party's Selangor state liaison committee secretary Ng Chok Sin (left) said that the DAP was using Khalid as "scapegoat" to "absolve themselves" from all responsibility.
"Selangor DAP should stop shirking responsibility by placing all the blame on Khalid and making him a scapegoat for the recurring water shortages," he said in a statement.
Citing Selangor DAP chairman Tony Pua and publicity secretary Ronnie's statements on the matter, Ng said it was obvious that their intention was to put all the blame on Khalid so that state DAP leaders can wash their hands off the crisis.
Ng said DAP should instead provide constructive proposals to help Khalid address the crisis.
"Instead, they have chosen to wait for the crisis to worsen so that Khalid can be made a scapegoat," he said.
"If Pua is a gentleman, he should tell DAP to focus on resolving the water crisis instead of beating around the bush by issuing statements which can be construed as the pot calling the kettle black."
Pua's statement, Ng claimed, does not even mention about the water crisis.
"This means that he could not clarify the issue honestly and that he is running away from responsibility."
