It is not Pakatan Rakyat's official stance to remove Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim from office, said PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.

He said any changes would have to be done through discussions between Pakatan parties in consultation with the Selangor sultan, and not through rumours.

"That is not the official statement. The decision to retain or replace (Khalid) would be made through discussion and decisions of Pakatan Rakyat, and certainly in consultation with His Majesty.

"So decisions aren't made through listening to rumours," he said when met by reporters today after an event at Centre for Reform, Democracy & Social Initiatives in Puchong.

When asked if he would advise Pakatan leaders not to speak on Khalid's removal, Anwar said they were just commenting on recent issues.

"They gave their views based on recent developments," he said.

"We will listen, we will discuss, and we will decide properly."

The Malaysian Insider had reported that PAS and DAP are clamouring to replace Khalid for his tendency to make unilateral decisions without consulting other Pakatan parties.

The report quoted Selangor PAS election chief Jaafar Sulaiman, who has since denied the report and clarified that this is not his official position on the matter, saying that he merely conveyed his views over a private conversation.
