A 25-year-old man was hauled up in Kampung Kelebor, Kuala Kangsar, Perak by the Bukit Aman Special Branch Counter Terrorism Division for suspected militant involvement.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Mohd Bakri Mohd Zinin (right) said police also seized a homemade rifle and 48 bullets during the raid yesterday.

He said arrest was part of the Bukit Aman crackdown on militants since April 28 and this brought the number of those arrested to date to 16.

"The rifle is believed to be used by the militant group for training inGunung Arang Para, Kampung Nyior Ketior, Kuala Kangsar, Perak in December last year," Mohd Bakri said in a statement.

The suspect was arrested under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 for alleged involvement in terror-linked activities, he added.
