While not a subscriber of malaysiakini, I appreciate reading the letters published, and often find many interesting issues raised. I was sufficiently provoked by Muhammad Abdullah's letter to write this quick response.

Surely, the fact that Muhammad Abdullah cannot believe that a 17-year-old student would be capable of composing such a letter demonstrates his own poor opinion of the national education system!

I am confident that many of my classmates would have been able to write an article of that standard in Form Five. Muhammad Abdullah has obviously not been acquainted with the many intelligent, outgoing students who are products of our very own education system. I am grateful for the well-rounded and comprehensive education which in my opinion, I did receive in Malaysia.

Muhammad Abdullah has, however, reserved the ultimate insult for our education system by automatically assuming that it is not capable of producing analytically critical, strongly opinionated and eloquent students such as Patriotic School Leaver.

Furthermore, Muhammad Abdullah's letter in itself serves as a contradiction to his presumption as to the readership composition of malaysiakini. I believe that readers of all races are able to appreciate the thought-provoking issues raised by this online newspaper, and need not be pro-opposition to participate, as he assumes.
