Beijing insists Najib's eggs be boiled for 10min

Boasting about how China had cared for him during his visit there last week, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said today that he wasn't even allowed to eat his eggs the way he always preferred, for health reasons.

He said that China provided "unprecedented security" and the special treatment showed that ties between the two countries were getting restored, after the unsettling MH370 incident.
"There was a health official to make sure that I remain healthy," Najib said to laughter from a room of investors and businessmen at the InvestMalaysia 2014 conference in Kuala Lumpur.
"I usually like my eggs half-boiled, three minutes, but the China official insisted that it must be 10 minutes, for health reasons," he added.
For security's sake, Najib said China also had three similar limousines to ferry him around, and put up a world class concert for just four people, where an Italian version of "It's now or never" was beautifully rendered.
Engaging with world leaders
In the last month, PM Najib have been busy engaging with world leaders such as US President Barrack Obama and Japan's Shinzo Abe, before visiting Beijing to mark 40 years of Malaysia-China diplomatic ties.
Najib was received by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang in a very intimate manner, he said, which signalled that China really wanted to woo Malaysia.
"As far as MH370 is concerned, China wants to put it behind and start building stronger ties," Najib said.
The Beijing-bound Malaysian Airlines MH370 had disappeared on March 8. On board were 153 Chinese citizens. Three months later, its whereabouts remains a mystery.
However Najib balanced out his praise of China noting that closer ties with the United States, were developing, following Obama's visit last month.
He was the first US president to touch down on Malaysian soil in more than 50 years.
Najib was asked to describe Obama's vehicle 'the Beast' and if he would be getting a similar one.
"I can wish, but not sure if I can get one - it's a comfortable car," he quipped.
He added that Obama had invited him to a game of golf and also gifted Najib a "personalised Obama putter".
It's little gestures like these that indicate that Obama and he have close ties, Najib said.
