The next big question is over Pak Lah's successor. Indeed, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad will rule by proxy after he steps down at least until this important pronouncement.

Any other choice other than Najib would be an immediate challenge to his legacy. Dr M is merely repaying Tun Razak who rehabilitated him from political wilderness through Datuk Harun. What better way to repay the debt than by ensuing the son of the man who saved him would be the next PM-in-waiting.

As for Najib Abdul Razak, I am positive he would elevate his cousin Hishamuddin Hussein Onn to be his successor making sure the post is kept in the family just as Tun Razak appointed his brother-in-law Tun Hussein Onn as his successor.

Far-fetched? Just wait and see. Things would come full circle.
