According to Bernama editor-in-chief Jaafar Hussin, they "...have a correspondent in Melbourne who just reported what was said in the programme. If it happens anywhere else in the world where we have a correspondent, they would also file reports...."

I am wondering what happened to Bernama's correspondent in Melbourne when the 55-minute special report by Foreign Correspondent's Evan Williams was aired over the ABC. I don't recall any release by the news agency to the mainstream media on that report by Williams.

Also, on the report by Bernama specifically relating to the figure purportedly to pay for the education of Anwar's children, Jaafar said the sum was named by a source contacted by the correspondent.

I believe prudence and journalistic professionalism would have been sufficient to alert Jaafar on the need to verify information received from sources.
