Zul: We won Thomas Cup based on Pakatan logic

It was a case of hearts breaking across the nation when the Malaysian team lost to Japan in the Thomas Cup final on the night of May 25.
Since then, several individuals have exploited badminton showdown to further their respective agendas, for example, academic Ridhuan Tee Abdullah taking a swipe at Chinese Malaysians.
Joining this bandwagon is former Anwar Ibrahim ally turned nemesis Zulkifli Noordin.

Joining this bandwagon is former Anwar Ibrahim's teammate turned opponent Zulkifli Noordin.
According to him, if Pakatan Rakyat's calculations are applied, it is Malaysia who won the Thomas Cup.
From the total five games played, three singles and two doubles, Zulkifli noted that the Malaysian team scored 242 points while Japan nailed 234 points.
"If we follow Pakatan's calculation, the Malaysian team won the 'popular points' because it has eight more points than Japan.
"Imagine if the Malaysians players had rolled about on the court demanding that the Thomas Cup be given to us, what would have the world said then?" he asked.
"We know that the world would have said that we are mad," he added in his blog.
Zulkifli was taking a potshot at Pakatan, which never fails to drive home the fact that it won the popular votes in the last general election but BN retained federal power due to the first past the post system.
"Anwar and the opposition can say that they won the 13th GE and should be given the Putrajaya Cup because they have more popular votes than BN.
"Opposition members and opposition fanatics will roll on the road because they are crazy about the Putrajaya Cup," he said in reference to the Pakatan protests which came in the aftermath of the general election.
