The eight participants of the KE7B Malaysia Greenland Expedition organised by the 7 Continents Exploration Club (KE7B) succeeded in completing their mission at 9.30pm Greenland time Saturday (7.30am Sunday in Malaysia).

They completed the expedition, covering 540 kilometres, in 27 days and became the first group from South-East Asia to cross Greenland.

The expedition members comprise Yanizam Mohamad Supiah, 29 (leader); Muhamad Shaiful Hisyam Abd Aziz, 25; Mohd Akasyah Jamaludin, 25; Muhammad Irwan Yusuf Abdullah, 34; Muhammad Musaddiq Samsudin, 25, and Muhd Hafizuddin Abdul Muthalib, 25 and a married couple, Abdul Rahman Abu Hassan, 31, and Tahirah Najmunisaa Muhammad Zaid, 25.

KE7B president Muhamad Muqharabbin Mokhtarrudin, in a statement in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, said all the participants were reported safe and they were now in Kangerlusuaq, where they would be until May 30, before returning to Kuala Lumpur via London.

They are scheduled to arrive at the KL International Airport at 8am on June 3.

The team began their expedition last April 28, two day later than scheduled as their helicopter flight from Tasiilaq to Hahn Glacier was postponed due to bad weather.
