I wish to respond to Charles F Moreira's letter on dumping BN for a new coalition government for the sake of a 'just' world. Finally, someone with some sense and not 'cents' in his mind.

I know the non-Muslims in this country fear PAS and its so-called 'Islamic laws'. But don't forget, there are many Muslims who are very careful of 'textual' or literal interpretations of Islam by traditional scholars.

I myself have some problems with some aspects of the thinking among PAS' religious scholars and leadership. But I am comforted that there are many professionals and others who are not traditionally trained in Islam within that party. Go and see these people and talk to them.

I will not leave my children in the hands of a prime minister who thinks this country is nothing more than his backyard to plunder. I am going to exercise my democratic responsibility to the fullest extent at influencing the new coalition government of PAS, Keadilan and DAP to accept laws that are relevant to most Malaysians.

Who says PAS is going to rule Malaysia? Do you think all Muslims like me support everything PAS does? I am banking on the new line-up of professionals in PAS to complement the honesty of the ulama. We must back Keadilan and DAP to ensure a balanced Parliament.
