Two Form One students fell off the first floor of their school hostel near Bentong yesterday evening after they stretched their playful teasing too far.
Muhamad Izzudin Mohd Saadan and Hamirul Haqimi Hanafi, both 13, of Sekolah Menengah Agama Pelangai, were injured in the face and body in the fall, Bentong police chief Mohamad Nor Mansor said today.
He said the boys were admitted to the Sultan Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh following the 6.40 pm incident.
A preliminary investigation showed that the duo had been playfully teasing each other and one of them lifted the other onto the corridor wall of the hostel.
As he lost his balance, the other boy held onto him, he said, adding that both tried to get back onto the first floor corridor but fell to the ground.
"The families of the two students have been notified and police are investigating the cause of the incident. We are waiting for them to become stable before recording their statements," he said.
Meanwhile, in Pasir Mas, a Form Five student was hurt in his left hand which was pierced by the sharp edge of the grille of his school gate when he tried to climb over it to go home early yesterday.
In the 11.30am incident, the 18-year-old was with 20 of his friends and tried to leave early by climbing the gate after they failed to get permission from the security guard.
"I failed to clear the gate and fell, causing my hand to be caught in the spear-like grille edge," the student told reporters when met at his home in Rantau Panjang today.
He had to bear the pain for almost an hour before he was saved by Rantau Panjang Fire and Rescue Department personnel.
"The rescuers managed to free my hand and I was the Lati Hospital where I received 30 stitches," he said.
