Dr Mahathir Mohamad cannot continue flogging a dead horse called the Muslim world and conference of Muslim leaders. The Muslim world is dead, really dead.

Islamdom has been a failure because we have failed Islam's teachings. It's better that we close down Islamdom, give our countries up to the United Nations, and be mentored by our former colonial masters Britain, Holland, Spain, Portugal and France. And of course, by Malaysia and Maldives, the only two successful Muslim nations in the world.

Dr Mahathir should realise by now that there is no other way he can exhort the Muslim world to buck up. He has to call for its demise and its return to the Quran and Sunnah. It's much better for all Muslim nations which are badly ruled, to cease their sovereign existence and be trusteed, than to go on spewing sinful policies, practices and cultures.

I dare say, almost all of the Muslim countries are ruled by irresponsible thugs, petty despots, all downright agents of the imperial powers of today. They are nothing but tools of Zionism, used to destroy the Muslim world from within, without they really knowing it.

Dr Mahathir said we must hijrah again. So be it. The way to hijrah is to go back to the UN and be trusteed by the ex-colonial master and the two successful Muslim countries. Muslims should not fear being trusteed because it is for their own good.

In the West, there are many Muslims who are capable professionals, who are able to guide Islamdom back to the original progressive path of the Quran and Sunnah. The West should not always be seen as an enemy. Muslims have lots of friends inside the West.

One great friend was Edward Said who just passed away. Another is Ralph Nader, the leader of the Green Party of the United States. Tariq Ali of Britain is another great friend. The West may have lots of evils, but it has lots of Islamic goodness too. All the progress that the West has achieved is based on Islamic goodness.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his companions were the harbingers of Western progress in all fields, said Jamaluddin Al-Afghani. The Muslim world, as Dr Mahathir said, declined because it went astray from the true teachings of Islam 1,000 years ago (not 1,400 years ago, Mr PM). It can only progress if starts life afresh, and gives itself a decent burial.

All we Muslims should go back to school in the Quran and Sunnah, but we have to read these gems from God in the proper, progressive way, as Abdullah Yusuf Ali said in his English interpretation of the Quran.

The West (the Anglo-Saxon and Celtic world, I mean) became prosperous and successful because it embraced Islam. Embraced not in the religious sense but in the worldly sense, embracing the principles of Islam and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). We Muslims embraced Islam in the religious sense and rejected Islam (murtad-ed) in the worldly sense.

Our leaders in the Ottoman era led us all astray and with their false scholars, they distorted Islam.

Dr Mahathir is brave, but he has not been brave enough to declare that the Muslim world is truly dead, and needs to be rebuilt from scratch.

I say I am brave enough (I'm not the only one who says this) to say we are dead, and must return to our roots and start life afresh based on a progressive interpretation of the Quran and Sunnah.
