Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Joseph Entulu Belaun today apologised for the confusion over a report on the dropping of the 'race' column in government official forms that had no value added.
He said in a statement that the matter was discussed at the cabinet meeting but no decision was taken.
The newspaper which published the report did not reflect accurately the statement he had made yesterday, he said.
"The inaccurate report has caused anxiety in the society," he said in a brief statement.
Entulu (right) said at a press conference yesterday that the cabinet had decided to drop the 'race' column in government official forms that had no valued added.
Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said today in Taiping, Perak, that the cabinet did not make a decision on the matter.
Najib was also reported to have said that there was no change in the existing policy or practice with regard to it.
