Simultaneous blackouts in several states

Electricity blackouts have been reported in several peninsular states starting this afternoon.
Users started complaining on elecriticity provider Tegara Nasional Bhd's Facebook page of power outages in parts of Negri Sembilan, Johor, Malacca and Kedah at about 3.30pm today.
Several areas in six states suffered almost simultaneous electricity blackouts between of 2pm to 5pm today, Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) said.
In a statement on its Facebook page, it said the power cuts occured in Penang, Perak, Kedah, Negri Sembilan, Malacca and Johor.
The areas affected were Bandar Baru Nilai and Rantau (Negri Sembilan), Segamat, Bakri and Pagoh (Johor), Merlimau, Masjid Tanah and Jasin (Malacca), Manjung (Perak), Sungai Petani and Kulim (Kedah) and Prai (Penang).
"TNB is now investigating the cause of the blackouts. Customers are advised to call 15454 for any enquiries," it said.
Earlier Malaysiakini reported that users started complaining of outages onTNB's Facebook page at about 3.30pm today.
The complaints came from areas including Mantin, Nilai, Jempol, Seremban, Segamat, Jasin, Muar, Ipoh and Sungai Petani.
"There is disruption in your area and we are working to restore supply to the residential area right now.
"We apologise for any inconvenience. Thank you for using the TNB Careline," TNB said in a standard response to all complainants.
Load shedding continues in Sabah
Meanwhile, there were also reports of blackouts in some parts of Sabah.
This followed a Kota Kinabalu-wide blackout on Monday.
Sabah electricity is provided by Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB).
The Sabah outages, however, is likely due to load shedding in the state.
SESB on its website said a long list of districts in the Borneo state will be affected in the third consecutive day of the rolling blackouts.
They include Sandakan, Tawau, Lahad Datu, Kota Kinabalu, Beaufort, Sipitang, Kayul, Kimanis, Kudat, Kota Belud, Sepanggar, Penampang, Kepayan, Lok Kawi, Papar, Tenom, Beluran, Semporna, Tambunan,
