Anti-crime watchdog MyWatch chairperson R Sri Sanjeevan' has hit out at police inaction over his shooting, saying that despite it being almost one year, he still does not even know the name of the investigating officer handling his case.

Sanjeevan, who was shot at by two men on a motorcycle in Negri Sembilan on July 27, last year, also questioned why no arrests have been made.

“There has been no follow up...I do not even know who my investigating officer is. I was shot in Jempol but the officer is from Seremban,” he said.

Sanjeevan, during a press conference in Petaling Jaya today, further revealed that three live bullets had been placed in the mail box of his family home in Kampung Taman Jaya, Bahau two days ago.

He claims the bullets are of the same make as the ones he was shot with last year.

“This case would have been investigated swiftly if it involved someone of interest, like a minister.

“But in this case, which nearly took away my life, nothing has been done,” he said.

'More expose if no action'

Sanjeevan was in a coma for 35 days after he was shot in broad daylight by a motorcycle pillon rider near Jempol, Negri Sembilan.

Police classified the case as attempted murder under Section 307 of the Penal Code.

Sanjeevan claimed that he was shot because he had exposed a drug syndicate allegedly operated by high ranking Negri Sembilan police officers.

He said that he alerted police inspector general Khalid Abu Bakar about it, and that Khalid  instructed the criminal investigations department chief in charge of narcotics Noor Rashid Ibrahim to meet with Sanjeevan on the matter.

However, he said he has not been able to set up a meeting with Noor Rashid to date.

Recently, he also alleged that Johor police officers had more than a million ringgit in their bank accounts and should be investigated for graft.

“If the police do not take action, MyWatch will not hesistate in revealing their names,” he said.
