Embarrassed by MAS young and pretty croak
It is embarrassing to read the comments made by a senior officer in Malaysia Airlines (MAS) who said that the policy of young and pretty stewardess will have to continue due to customer demands.
I would like to state that as a customer, I do not mind who is serving me or how old the person is as long as they serve me well and courteously. MAS' officers need to travel a little bit more widely to recognise that major airlines in the West do not discriminate against age.
Rather, they emphasise on quality of service. Go on board any British Airways or American Airline flights and you will see that the stewards and stewardess and of various age groups. However, their quality or service is very good indeed.
What is the point of focusing on the age of the staff when the quality is low? Perhaps it is actually the senior officers in MAS who want to see the young and pretty work for them?
Is there any hidden agenda behind this ethos in MAS? Or perhaps the senior officers simply have to travel more widely and stop being a 'katak di bawah tempurung'! (frog under the coconut shell)
