The wife of former state DAP chairperson Wong Ho Leng has thanked Chief Minister Adenan Satem for agreeing to foot part of his medical expenses to seek treatment for brain tumor in Singapore since Jan 12 this year.

Irene Chang said she and her family appreciated the kind gesture and also thanked current state DAP chairperson and Kuching Member of Parliament Chong Chien Jen for helping the family to apply for financial aid from the state government.

Speaking at a press conference in Sibu today, she said her husband had returned home and was warded at the Rajang Medical Specialist Centre in the town.

“He is still not conscious but quite responsive whenever I speak to him. We have faith in God and have not given up hope,” she said, adding that Wong needed palliative care and support with his vital signs.
