Cheaper cars needed to safe lives

If there is not going to be any difference in car prices under Afta, then why doesn't the government just introduce the new basis immediately? Proton car sales have dropped and will continue to do so. Technology of over 10 years old is no longer value for money.
Malaysia's dream car-maker Proton has increased the prices of cars substantially. Every year, over 70 per cent of deaths on Malaysian roads come from motorcyclists. Many of them could be driving cars, if it was more affordable. Is the Malaysian car dream worth Malaysian lives?
