Fair Play: DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng Guan Eng, I beg to differ. Do not try to defend the indefensible. By all accounts, Jeff Ooi is incorrigible loose cannon, judging by his past antics.
Suppose a top PKR leader and MP called you using similar terms. What would your reaction, as well as of right-thinking Malaysians, be?
There are two types of criticism - constructive and destructive. I happen to believe Ooi's outburst was the latter.
Domcr2001: Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim is trying his best to rationalise the whole water supply system in Selangor despite the resistance of the cronies of the previous administration.
He is doing a good job to plan for a better water supply system for KL and Selangor in the future. The current water shortage is because of the extremely dry weather in the last two months, not because of Khalid. Ooi is too emotional in his outburst. I don't mind the water rationing in my area.
FellowMalaysian: Saying that Penang people are a talented lot is an understatement I believe. Our 50 years of history tells us Penang folks are forthrightly courageous on the political front and their actions steeped with tenacity and perseverance.
When ruling parties and leaders failed to perform to expectations, they were thrown out. That was what happened to Wong Pow Nee of MCA and Lim Chong Eu and Koh Tsu Khoon of Gerakan.
Penangites often set their own direction and are never too afraid or obsequious enough to allow KL's federal government to dictate what's best for them.
Take toll highways as an example. Penang Island has none (other than the two Penang bridges) but Seberang Prai has two. Klang Valley has 21 and still counting.
Value-wise, it’s RM26 billion against Penang's RM 0.6 billion. In other words, Penang sets the trend and the direction where people power comes first. Isn't this what democracy is all about?

Criticising Khalid is fine, I believe. But to use words like "bugger" does not sound right. Guan Eng, I have a great deal of respect for you. Please don't spoil it by such nonsensical defence of someone who did something wrong.
The Saint: A good leader is exemplary. He displays positive values in every word and deed. Even the most unpleasant thing is said in a pleasant manner by him.
Karpal Singh was a good example of someone with pristine leadership. He had his own share of differing views and problems with people within his party but he always stood by his principles and was very civil in his arguments. Ooi is a very arrogant man who should be joining the ranks of ministers Nazri Aziz and Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Not Smart: When a person deserves praise, it should be given accordingly. By the same token, when a person deserves a scolding, it should be done.
In this case, the MB has been trying the patience of Selangorians far too long, by continuing water rationing especially when there has been frequent heavy rainfall around the state.
To the layman, if there is rain, there must be water. They are not interested in the MB's strategy and management of water problems. What else does the MB wants?
Mohd: I am no supporter of Khalid by all means. But reading the statement and comments from the disciples of DAP just makes me all riled up. I've got the impression that these disciples believe that whatever DAP does it is indisputable and perfect while what other parties do is just wrong and stupid. The arrogance and hypocrisy of the disciples just gets me irritated.

I agree it is teamwork, which Khalid doesn’t seem to show. His Bank Islam deal is couched in mystery and evasiveness. Why isn’t Taman Tun Dr Ismail experiencing water rationing? Is it because bigwigs are living there?

And Ooi spoke the truth. I am glad that the party leader accepts his comments. Unlike BN leaders who will axe their members. We should have many Karpal Singhs who speak their minds and call a spade a spade.
It is a signal to Khalid that he is not sitting on cushy seat and is answerable to all. Khalid has no right to make unilateral decisions without any consultations and consensus.
The decision he made appears to indicate he is in cohorts with Umno and not forgetting that he was a strong ex-Umno member and he seems to be in a problem with a bank loan.
And that is the reason why Anwar wanted to stand for election and put Khalid in his place otherwise he would be drunk with power and assume he has done well in management of the economy of Selangor.

Banzai: If Khalid is not up to the mark, he must be told off. He cannot act alone and unilaterally decide on the water issue. We in Selangor had suffered enough water rationing and worse, still we now have to bear the brunt of inconsistent water stoppage.
We cannot accept Khalid's message that water rationing will be stopped if, I repeat if, only the situation continuous to improve. This is not a commitment from him to stop water rationing. When will the situation improve? Maybe after he has signed the Langat 2 project? God knows.
GOMBAK: Yes we have to speak our mind. Whoever is the MB, he must take care of the people. Water is a life or death matter. Jangan main main (don’t play around’).
Visu: Well said, Guan Eng. A true leader and a great team player. Penang is lucky, unlike Selangor. Khalid is up to something and those close to the Pakatan leaders know this. Ooi might be brash but he has a point.
Otherwise, why would there be so much trouble in PKR? Anyone driving around in Selangor especially in Subang Jaya/Puchong, would see how badly the roads are maintained. There’s rubbish strewn everywhere, unlike earlier days when Pakatan just took over. Khalid is not spending on the people and infrastructure.
