MH370 The preliminary findings on the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370's disappearance expected to be released next week contains early preliminary data and "nothing exciting", according to acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein.

Hishammuddin  said the report had been submitted to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) by the Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), as per ICAO requirements.

"...but I don't think anything exciting is going to be revealed by the report, anyway, because it's just about early preliminary data," he told reporters after attending the Umno supreme council meeting in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Hishammuddin noted that a report of public interest had to be released as long as it did not affect the investigation as well as emotions of the families of the 239 people aboard the Boeing 777-200, which has been missing since March 8.

Flight MH370 disappeared from radar screens about an hour after departing from the KL International Airport, en route to Beijing. It was to have landed in Beijing at 6.30am on the same day.

A multinational search is currently under way in the southern Indian Ocean, in waters off Perth, Australia.
