I like to respond to CH Ong's remarks for I face the same situation too. It is best summed up as "tak puas hati" (not satisfied) on the quality of water we get from Puas.

I have installed a water filter and it takes only two days before the white filter turns muddy brown. Can you imagine if no filter is installed and we kept drinking the unfiltered water. I wish someone with medical knowledge could analyse what type of sicknesses or diseases can result from drinking such water.

We witness the Health Ministry taking serious concern about almost everything (i e on smoking, overeating, quality of food and food handling), but it misses the mark when it comes to our chocolate-coloured water.

Our Economic Report annually outlined a complete chapter on our quality of living. Of course, our leaders bragged about almost everything under the Malaysian sun that we are doing well and proud of our modern buildings, our ability to cope with technology.

Never mind the buses that spewing black exhaust fumes. The noisy bikers roaring down the highway because there is no such thing called "noise pollution". Never mind that a highway is built just next to your house because the house of the 'policymaker' is tucked somewhere quiet in an upper-class residential area. Never mind that your children have no playground, and they have to play badminton or basketball in the middle of the road.

In fact, all what I have mentioned don't constitute the "basket of goods" that we measure as "quality of living".
