I refer to the letter by Khoo Kay Peng, in which he said: "Hence, the party (Gerakan) accepts plurality in definition: Muslims are welcomed to call this country an Islamic country and the non-Muslims can also freely define Malaysia as a secular or multi-religious country."

Me being a rather dense person, would like Khoo to kindly explain the difference between an 'Islamic country' and an 'Islamic state'.

If we accept his type of plurality in definition where a country or state is concerned, can the Hindus then call Malaysia a Hindu country, and likewise the Buddhists refer to Malaysia as a Buddhist country?

What I believe the majority of us want to do is to continue calling our Malaysia a secular country or state, as it was meant by our founding fathers.
