Paloh assemblyperson Nozula Mat Diah, who was involved in an accident on Thursday, is getting better and he is still being treated at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) in Ipoh.

HRPB director Dr Raja Lope Ahmad Raja Ariffin said Nozula was in a stable condition and was still being treated in the intensive care unit of the hospital.

"Kelantan Menteri Besar (Ahmad Yakob) was here just now to visit Nozula who has gained consciousness," he told reporters at HRPB, today.

Meanwhile, Nor Fatma Nadia, Nozula's daughter said her father had not been told of her mother's death.

"Father became conscious yesterday. Prior to this he was unconscious as he was under medication," she said.

Perak Menteri Besar Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir also visited Nozula today at 6pm.

In the accident, Nozula, 57, sustained serious injuries including bruised lungs and seven broken ribs - six on the right and one on the left.

The mishap took place at 6.30pm at Km23, Jalan Cameron Highlands-Simpang Pulai when he and his family were heading to Cheras, Kuala Lumpur from Gua Musang, Kelantan.

The sport utility vehicle driven by his daughter was believed to have skidded due to the slippery road condition before hitting a hill slope, killing his wife, Maziah Din.
