Minister finds Karpal jibes unacceptable
Abasir: The fundamental difference between Karpal Singh (peace be upon him) and BN’s Langkawi MP Nawawi Ahmad and former BN parliamentary candidate Zulkifli Noordin (who shall never rest in peace) was fortuitously brought into national focus by the latter duo’s premeditated and sickeningly insensitive remarks (both of which were published and damned).
Perhaps it was Allah's way of revealing to the world (and Malaysians in particular), the sharp contrast between good and evil, light and darkness, benevolence and malignancy, truth and untruth. If God is indeed Great, there can be no other reason.
It is often said that character has a way of revealing itself such that no religious mask, skull cap or royal title can camouflage... just as lipstick on a pig makes no real difference. These two scumbags, who were handpicked by PM Najib Razak to contest the last general election despite their history, have no reputation to ruin.
By their twisted, thoughtless utterances, they merely reconfirmed what all decent Malaysians have known all along - that Umno is filled with the lowest forms of life squirming in a toxic ‘ketuanan’ pool.
Cry, My Beloved Country: It’s incredible that in our beloved country there is an individual who can take pleasure and comfort in the pain and grief suffered by Malaysians across the board regardless of race, religion or political convictions.
Even animals have better sense. Dogs and cats are known to have the capacity to mourn, but here we have one, supposedly human, who makes such a remark as he did and supports it with his understanding of his faith.
I’m not sure if he is also demeaning his own faith, but certainly just and inescapable recompense awaits him here and beyond. Let him remember that Malaysians will never, ever forgive him for his words, for trying to play God to take on the mind of God.
His arrogance will be with him now and beyond, haunt him forever without let. YB Karpal Singh, rest in peace.
Ratbatblue: We cannot expect any punitive action to be taken against these two rascals by their bosses. What action taken against them would be a gentle pat on the wrist at the most, chiding them not to make such statements. This has been the traditional BN response when such incidences occur.
Can anyone recall what punishment was meted out to Zul Noordin when he openly made fun of the Hindu religion recently? For these leaders, a half-hearted apology would be more than enough.
Nawawi deserves special censuring and a more severe bollocking for his particularly vile and hideous portrayal of pictures taken at the accident site. He is the pits.
Someone warned commentators here not to be hypocrites as they, too, would have made similar comments if these clowns were to pass away. I think the vast majority of folk who comment here have that much decency not to do so as these two have done.
These two are a present and former MP, who should show more sense of respect and responsibility.

No, that is “downright disgusting” as no human being, especially one who believes in God, would have utter such a statement at a person’s tragic death.
When are these so-called Muslims from BN ever going to learn that Karpal was never against Islam or Muslims, he was just of the opinion that Malaysia is a secular country according to our nation founding constitution and we cannot have two set of laws at the same time.
Malaysia is founded on its multi-racial and multi-religious society, every race and religion is protected under the constitution, only that Islam is the official religion - nothing more and nothing less.
Nothing or no one is above the nation's constitution, we must respect the right of everyone in practicing their race and religion. That is, unless you change the constitution or you migrate to another country.

Gen2: As Muslims used to say when somebody in the family passes away, Allah loves that person more, so He took him first.
Chiew Eng Ng: Only now are BN ministers beginning to speak up on the reasons why people are not too happy with BN MPs’ arrogance and attitude. I hope more sensible BN MPs would speak up against their fellow members.
Mohan53: Karpal Singh was a pain to Umno during his lifetime and even in his untimely death, he still managed to show the black side of Umno by the actions and words of their racist and religious bigots who are MPs and senior Umno leaders.
It is time Najib taught these Umno chiefs some lessons on how humans are supposed to behave. Why is the deputy prime minister not saying anything to these uncouth Umno "leaders"?
Hplooi: Everyone of lesser consequence has commented except the very man himself - that is dear leader, the prime minister of Malaysia. This reinforces (nay even confirms) that bigots are untouchable.
Apa Ini?: Whatever your differences, Karpal was a dedicated leader and Malaysian first, if not the first of Malaysians.
Our BN leaders have neither the grace nor the foresight to pay their last respects and show Malaysians how in a situation like this with a man like Karpal, they, as leaders can do the right thing and acknowledge the passing of a true son.
Shame on you, Najib and the rest of your cowardly and narrow-minded troops.
