I agree with Azmi of Melaka about the issue of DAP's overzealousness to oppose the Islamic state.

I too will not vote DAP even though I am a Barisan Alternatif supporter simply because voting DAP is seen to be anti-Islam in my eyes. Being a Muslim, I am deeply hurt by DAP's image. Unfortunately, this is exactly what Barisan Nasional wants - for the Muslims to see DAP as anti-Islam and for non-Muslims to see PAS as extremists.

Unless DAP changes its tactics and stand, I will not change mine. If faced to choose between MCA and DAP, the best is I will do is not to vote for either one. 'No' to MCA since it's part of BN and 'no' to DAP since it is seen as anti-Islam.

In my opinion, DAP vehemently opposes the Islamic state to show to the non-Muslim Malaysian voters that they are better than MCA or MIC since MCA and MIC have never opposed Umno's declaration of Malaysia as an Islamic state.

This shows that DAP only champions the non-Muslim cause in Malaysia.

However, DAP seems to forget that there are Muslim voters in Malaysia. And their number is quite substantial. By overzealously opposing the Islamic state, Muslim voters will definitely see DAP as anti-Islam and anti-Muslims.

Perhaps DAP should emulate PAS' policy of respecting BA's policy while holding on to its own policy as shown in its two-prong manifesto. It is time for DAP to grow up and face reality.
