A total of 482 equipment worth RM2.58 million at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR), Klang, and Hospital Tunku Fauziah (HTF), Kangar, have been categorised as 'assets not found' (V4L) or equipment not on location.
According to the First Series of the Auditor-General's Report tabled at the Dewan Rakyat today, as of Aug 31, 2013, a total of RM9,346 fees were still paid for 26 equipment categorised as V4L and the balance of 419 equipment could not be confirmed regarding their fee status, while the fees for equipment under the same status at the HTF had been stopped.
However, the report said, the auditor-general's department could not confirm the status of the equipment as there was no register of maintenance to monitor the V4L equipment.
"A further check on 26 equipment under V4L, which were still being paid for at the HTAR found that the Notice For The Beginning/Termination of Services (SNF) had been issued for 12 equipments," the audit report says.
