It is indeed sad to note we have to see the 'tough DBKL officers' preying on poor young couples to make a quick buck.

Corruption is so rampant in our country that one has to follow these overzealous officers to see how they harass the traders if they are not accommodated favourably.

Recently there was a raid in Bandar Sri Damansara to get rid of the tables and chairs placed in front of eateries. I was happy to see them coming. They promptly threw all the chairs and tables on to a lorry and issued a summon to the shop. It was all professional.

But when they went to the next shop where there were tables and chairs on the road, they just passed the place without taking any action. I heard some people murmuring "dia sudah bayar" ("they have paid").

What a shame. The shop still has chairs and tables outside. Let us get rid of these pests for the good of the country.
