The Malaysian Meteorological Department expects the country to go through a monsoon change period from March 29 until early May.

According to the Meteorological Department, thunderstorms and heavy rain are predicted to occur frequently during this change period, especially in the west coast states of peninsula Malaysia and the interiors of Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang.
The phenomenon would usually occur during the afternoon and early evening.
According to the department, strong winds and flash floods are also expected during the period.
