Three Court of Appeal judges visited the former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission office in Plaza Masalam, Shah Alam, today for a closer look at the venue where former political aide Teoh Beng Hock died in 2009.

The visit follows the final appeal of Teoh's family on a coroner's open verdict at the conclusion of the inquest.

The three judges who visited the site this morning were Justices Mohd Ariff Mohd Yusof, Mah Weng Kwai and Hamid Sultan Abu Backer.

They left the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya slightly before 10am and arrived at Plaza Masalam about 10.30am and were met by the family's counsel Gobind Singh Deo and DPP Mohd Abazafree Mohd Abbas as well as Teoh's family members and two Court of Appeal deputy registrars.

According to Gobind's legal assistant Ravin Jay, the judges spent more than an hour visiting the site, including the window on the 14th floor, from which Teoh apparently fell to his death.

It was reported on Jan 23 that Justice Ariff and the rest of the bench wanted to visit the site of the incident to get a better perspective of the case and view of the window.

The judges had requested to have a closer view of the window as in the appeal records, the pictures were not clear.

This is the third time that the judicial body is visiting the site as coroner Azmil Muntapha Abas was the first to visit the scene when presiding the case.

This was followed by a five-member Royal Commission of Inquiry into Teoh's death led by former Federal Court judge James Foong, after the inquest finding.

The appeal proper by Teoh's family on the coroner's finding will be heard on March 28.
