PARLIAMENT BN's Ketereh MP Annuar Musa today claimed Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has no power to stop the implementation of the hudud law in Kelantan should the state government decide to press ahead with it.
"I have read the rules and the prime minister cannot stop it, provided the state government does it according to existing regulations," Annuar said while debating the Agong's speech in the Dewan Rakyat today.
The PAS-led state government has long maintained it had been obstructed from implementing hudud law due to restrictions by the federal government.
Annuar said that since DAP, which has long opposed the hudud law implementation, is now in the same coalition with PAS, thus it would be the right time to implement hudud.
“Even many Chinese are supporting PAS now,” he said.
“I understand the law has been passed but has not been gazetted. I hope it is gazetted soon,” Annuar said.
